For centuries plants and food have attracted frightening folklore and intriguing magical claims.

Wild food that we now approach with trepidation was once turned to; to nourish, heal, charm and protect.

Fruit and herbs we now think of as familiar, once harboured terrifying creatures and was used to bewitch and poison!

One of audiences favourite stories, one told at a Legendary feast to accompany a sloe gin fizz, can be heard in the video below…

Amanda has mixed stories and facts, folklore and history and worked alongside award winning chefs to create bespoke evenings where each course is accompanied by a legend or terrifying tale connected with some of the plant ingredients.

Each dark and dangerous tale is accompanied by a taste, each course carries with it a story, with the suggestion of magical spine-tingling potential in each mouthful and some of the constituents of the food and the effect it can have on the human body are explored.

In November 2021 Amanda created her first Legendary Feast with the incredible chef especially for Scotland’s leading boutique vegan hotel Saorsa 1875, five courses were accompanied by tales of mythological gaining strength from sea buckthorn, plants used by witches to enchant their enemies and shadowy fae with malicious intent!

Each legendary feast is unique and created in consultation with chefs and venue managers, the first step is to talk to Amanda about possible collaborations or potential fabulous events…
